Coronavirus (COVID-19) Deaths Tableau Visualization

(Technology: Excel, SQL, Tableau)

In this project I want to visualize the data about the Covid-19 deaths that I worked on previous project. The data used here is exactly same as the one used in Project 1. 

I will go ahead and share the selective SQL queries that I used for this project and the step by step instructions for whoever wants to follow along. 

After deciding on the SQL queries used in this project I went ahead and got the results from those queries and copied them to separate Excel files for ease to use in the Tableau later on. 

Here are the results from all those four queries in separate Excel files. The reason for putting those results in an Excel files is because I can not connect SQL database to Tableau Public to get the data in there.

Once I have the data in Excel files I went ahead and connected Excel files to Tableau using (To a File) Microsoft Excel. Once I have my first Excel file in Tableau, I went ahead and connected the rest three files to Tableau too. I also made sure that every Excel file is in a separate Sheet in Tableau.

Here I start creating some visualizations in Tableau.

First, I wanted to see total Covid-19 deaths, total  Covid-19 cases and Covid-19 related death percentage. I decided to visualize it in the form of a text table.

Note: As we can see from the visualization above, Total Death count as of Dec 13, 2023 is 6,976,835 people in the World. Number of people with Covid-19 confirmed are  772,466,989 and the Death Percentage is around 0.9 %.

Next, I wanted to see total Covid-19 deaths for every continent. I decided to go with Bar Chart for better visualization.

Note: As we can see from the visualization above Europe has the highest Total Death count than any other continent  (as of Dec 13, 2023).

Then, I went ahead and decided to plot Map of Countries with corresponding Population Infection Percent (%). To be able to use the Symbol Maps for this visualization I made sure that location is set to Geographic Role > Country/Region. Once selected Latitude and Longitude get generated on the left side under Tables. See screenshot below. 

Now I am going to be doing working with some Time Series data. I want to see Population Infection Rate with Covid-19 for selected countries of my choice. The reason not selecting all countries is because it gets messy and really hard to get an idea of the graph.
